Hamburgers and hot-dogs. Coleslaw and potato salad. Desserts with strawberries and blueberries. There are so many options! This is not a story about any of those. Strawberry Shortcake Cookies

I don’t know about you, but the way I pick out most fruit is by look and smell. If it smells like a pineapple, it’s probably ripe. If the strawberries and bright red and smell sweet, they’re probably great! This week I learned that looks and smells can be deceiving. But you know what they say… when life hands you underwhelming strawberries and you have a lemon in the fridge… make strawberry shortcake cookies!

Chocolate Walnut Ginger Biscotti

As it gets colder outside, there’s nothing better than curling up on the couch with a warm drink. Hot chocolate… hot apple cider… or my favorite– hot tea. In the morning, during the work day, or for a treat after dinner, a giant mug of hot tea is just perfect. And of course, for the times you need a bit more of a treat, all you need to do is pair the tea with some biscotti. Biscotti goes really well with tea, especially if you are a dipper like me. Because it’s baked twice, biscotti is a dryer cookie so it can hold up to the tea without disintegrating too much.
